Internet drops for 5-10 seconds every hour on random days

About a month ago my desktop started having an issue with internet connectivity. On random days my desktop loses it's internet connection once every hour for about 5-10 seconds then reconnects itself. I initially thought this was an ISP issue and after multiple phone calls and service tech visits ensuring the connection to be fine, the problem still persists. My desktop is hard wired directly to the modem, which was replaced as well. After getting no where with my ISP I finally decided that it might be something wrong with my desktop. So, I tried installing a new network card and the connector cables and the issue is still there. I decided to hook up my laptop to the modem as well and run a ping trace on both computers to see if they would both disconnect. My laptop would not drop connection like my desktop did so now I'm pretty sure the problem lies with my desktop, the only problem is I have no idea how to fix this. I have tried google for solutions but I feel this problem is much more specific than what I am finding. If anyone has any ideas your help would be greatly appreciated.

It is probably a little stupid, but have you tried another cable for your desktop?

And how do you know or what makes you feel you are disconnected?
What I mean is: is it your browser who says "i can't connect" or (in windows) is it the network icon in the right corner with the yellow warning?
Or maybe is it something else?

Yes, I have tried using another cable for my desktop. I know I'm disconnected because my ping trace will time out for 5-10 seconds then resume. Also, whatever game I'm playing, skype call I'm in, or twitch page I'm viewing at the time will drop connection as well. I've never actually paid attention to the network icon because of the obvious disconnect signs I was seeing, but I'll be on the lookout now.

Update: It started happening again and I do notice the network icon is receiving the yellow warning. I have tried using a new network card and another cable but still having this issue.
