On clicking Internet Explorer up comes router login window - not the web.

Clicking on Internet Explorer results in the router login window not my homepage. Changing the internet URL to, for example, the BBC does not resolve the problem. I still get the router login. Mozilla Firefox does not have the same problem. Is there something in IE properties that needs changing? Would reinstalling IE overcome the problem? How is this done? Can anyone help me.

Problem solved. In Vista used Control Panel/Network and Internet/Internet Options/Internet Properties/advanced/reset Internet Explorer settings (or something like this).
