Ok so I had a XFX 650w PSU that burnt out my Sata data cable from my motherboard to my DVD drive the other day now I believe this to be a fault with the PSU but am hoping i had enough wattage to cover my system with the 650w. So here is my system:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3HR9s

I also have some additional parts that aren't listed here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/NZXT-Technologies-5-25-Inch-Con...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/NZXT-SENTRY-Touch-Screen-Contro...

Along with obvious things such as DUAL MONITORS, MOUSE, KEYBOARD, EXTERNAL HARDDRIVE, MEMORY STICK.

Was this PSU enough to cover all this? and if not then what other should i go for instead?

Thanks Ricki

Are you sure it was the PSU? It should be plenty for that build.

Your pc should have a maximum power draw of about 400W so you current wattage should be enough, it must be a fault with the PSU. The exact same thing happened to me with a hard drive, the drive died so I had to replace it. After changing the PSU it never happened again.

Yea the PSU was shorting i think when ever i added extra power i.e memory stick or external hard drive the power to the computer was shutting straight off, or sometimes without adding anything it wouldn't start until i removed things such as the mouse usb, keyboard etc. I tried my Corsair 430w and it worked fine but this is for my other computer so i need a new one for this system. Amazon are replacing the damaged parts now and have removed the xfx 650w from their UK website for investigation.

Also on the pcpartpicker the website says 463w? so doesnt that mean its more than 400w max?
