I am building a PC for my dad, and we are on a bit of a budget (it's hard to say exacly what it is as hardware is really expensive here in denmark where i live so it's hard to say what it'll be in $ or £). I am not looking for a CPU that can overclock or anything like that, he does a bit of gaming (minor, and doesn't mind them not being on ultra settings). The reason why i have problems with this is because i simply have never looked into AMD CPU's as i have always been an Intel fanboy, so i have no clue what to get that is really good but also on the cheaper side of an FX8320.

Thank you for your help in advance

Assuming he would want more performance in normal computer usage, you can get an i3-4130 for the same price as a 6300. For any kind of gaming you would want a dedicated GPU for the i3, and one would be necessary for the 6300. If budget is a huge concern, an A8 or A10 APU would be the overall cheapest route, that would also get acceptable gaming rates.
