It may just need a drive letter manually assigning to it:

Actually that is the problem. I'm unable to view my hard disk anymore at any place at all in my computer.
Light keeps blinking and irony is its just a week old hard disk

Have you tried this drive on another computer? Get the same problem? If so, your drive may get some problems. If you really need this drive for some important thing, you'd better ask some professional persons to help you out.

Try to change another USB interface for this hard drive and see whether it can be read on your computer.
If it can be read there, you’d better copy out all your stored data quickly or use some data recovery tools to help you, like:
icare-recovery.com/seagate-recovery/seagate-external-cannot-be-recognized.html
But, if it also cannot be read well there, for the data, some data recovery companies may help you out. But, as to the drive, you’d better replace it for future use.
