How's the noise? Are what sort of stable over clock are you getting?
It looks like a speckie cooler: I think it would go nice with my planned Asus Maximus Hero mobo, but is it any good?
Thanks for any thoughts/experiences?

The NH-D14 actually performs better than the Cooler Master V8 GTS: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cases_cooling/cooler...

It also costs less, but it doesn't look as fancy as the V8. So the cooler is not bad, but you can get more efficient (although not so good looking) ones for less money.

Thanks for your reply!
Lol, I know it sounds silly but I don't think cream and brown would match my black and red theme. I'm only just building my rig to future proof it (my last PC lasted ten years, the 774 socket is finally too ssssllloooowww, lol). So at the moment I plan on running the CPU stock but in the future for over clocking it i may need a new cooler.
But with an Asus Hero mobo and red Vengeance Pro memory, I think Noctua would clash.
At the moment I am looking at the V8 GTS as a replacement to the stock 4770K fan at install.

It's not a bad cooler. If you really like the look, go for it.

In Australia, the coolers are only $10 apart! (Essentially on par price wise).

Lol, from what I hear, anything is better than the stock 4770 cooler! :)

Some say the stock cooler is fine, but I live where in summer the room is 34c/98F, so I assume the stock cooler would struggle. That's why I am considering the after market coolers for normal operation until a few years time when I will overclock for extra pepper!

I've just build the system and although I am getting POST, I get CPU FAN ERROR, and the fan isn't spinning and the lights are not on! Anybody have any suggestions?

Are the fans connected to the CPU fan headers() on the motherboard? Try using some of your case fans with the CPU fan header(s) and see if they work. You can also try going to BIOS and manually setting the fan speed higher.

I wiggled the connector and now it works! Loose connection!
