PSU fan seems to have died

I was playing a game a little while ago when my system froze, shut down and then refused to boot. I also noticed a slight smell of burning coming from the vent on the back of the power supply. I assumed it was dead at this point, but after it cooled down a bit, I managed to get it running again. However, on taking the side panel off I noticed that the PSU fan is barely spinning at all, and there's hardly any air coming out of the vent at the back (whereas it was constant before).

My question is basically whether it's okay to carry on using it like this until I can afford a replacement. It seems to be fine just browsing the web and such, though I guess it would overheat and fail again doing anything taxing. I have returned my CPU to stock clocks and activated the Power Saver profile in Windows to try and help it out a bit.

Incidentally, it's an OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W. I thought it might still be under warranty, but apparently OCZ recently went bust, so I guess that's out...

Hi

From ocz website
As of February 12, 2014 FirePower Technology has acquired the power supply assets of OCZ Technology Group and PC Power and Cooling. Firepower Technology has announced that it plans to honor the warranty obligations of its installed base and will operate out of the company's facilities in Carlsbad, California. For additional information and PSU product support inquires please visit their website at www.firepower-technology.com

So you may have a chance , but usually they want part back before supplying a replacement and may take a few weeks.

Thanks for the advice. Spent most of the day resuscitating an old Core 2 Duo business workstation that's being sitting in my spare room for goodness knows how long. At least I have something to browse the web on... if painfully slowly. Hopefully Firepower will be able to help me with an RMA for it.
