You don't need thermal paste. There is one that comes with the cpu cooler and that is already a good quality thermal paste.
You also have a lot of fans. You don't need so many. You don;t have to fill out every fan mount with fans. The one that comes with the case is sufficient.

I haven't looked into the Radeon gpu's much are they on par with the gtx series?

Yea the 290x outperforms the 780, but right now it would be better to get a GTX 780 because it's around the same level and is significantly cheaper:

You can swap the three fans if you want. The fan controller depends. If you prefer to have something physical to change the fan speed then it is worth it.

It is overkill, a 780 will be great for gaming. I would get a good 750W PSU so you can sli two 780s later on.

Looks really good. Got any recommendations for optical drive or wireless card/usb cause sadly there's no way for me to be wired. Also do you have a recommendation for fan setup or should I just experiment
