Hi, i have done a build (first time) and i wonder the following questions:
Can it be done cheaper with not to great performance loss?
Will it overheat?
Have i missed out on necessary components?
Windows 7 or windows 8? I have read that modding games doesnt work with windows 8, a feature that i want. Is this true? Is windows 8 better for gaming or not?

I will use it for gaming and general use.

My budget lies at $2100.
Note that i buy my components from Sweden which seems to be more expensive....:( Since this build will cost me $2150 in Sweden. And then am i buying from komplett.se and inet.se.

I don't see the Xeon for a gaming build.

MSI GD65 Gaming - It's been hailed as the standout of the Z87 generation. It provided MIL spec components like the Sabertooth you chose but, unlike the Sabertooth, was designed primarily as a gaming MoBo. Read the reviews....example below. If unavailable, the Asus Hero provides comparable features but is usually a $30 - $40 more and doesn't match the Sabertooth's / GD65's MIL spec..

Now and again a motherboard appears that is so obviously brilliant, and so affordable, that we wonder if anything will be able to top it. For a while that crown was held by the ASUS Sabertooth, both in X58 and then P67 variants. Then MSI stole the crown with the Z77 MPower. Looking at the Z87 GD65 Gaming we think it's going to take something extraordinary to top it, such is the perfect storm of price, performance, features and looks.

The switch to Military Class 4 has given us an extremely ready overclocker too. You're always thermally limited when overclocking and the i7-4770K is one of the most demanding around. Considering the amount of cooling we're using we think that although the GD65 is capable of bringing 5GHz from our i7-4770K you'd need a proper water loop to make the most of it.

Performance is outstanding. The stock results were a particular highlight. We know a lot of people still just like to put their CPU in and go, without overclocking it first. Despite how easy it is these days we know that the fear factor still exists. So you'll be glad to know that the MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming really rocks hard even at stock settings. Naturally the overclocking is blistering too, with some OC3D records broken.

MSI have laid the gauntlet down to all the other manufacturers. Gorgeous to look at, blistering performance and all at a very affordable price, the MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming is not only the new benchmark for Z87 motherboards, but probably for all motherboards.

Intel 4670k - Universal consensus "best buy"....if budget allows or if ya need HT, 4770k provides little extra speed and hyperthreading

Phanteks PH-TC14-PE - King of the hill for air coolers.... Thermalright Silver Arrow and Noctua DH-12 reasonable alternates

Corsair Vengeance 2133 - usually same price as 1866 and 1600.

Asus 780 DCII - With the 780's large OC headroom, makes it very attractive on bang for buck basis .... once overclocked to the wall nuthin touches it but the 780 Ti .... the new MSI N Gamkng Series 780 Ti is comparable performer and is clocked way higher outta the box. I have OC'd both to 25% above reference settings.

240 / 256 GB SSD - Many reasonable alternatives, choice oft depends on pricing ?

HD - No HD ?

Asus DVD - What ya have is fine

Corsair 500R or Phantels Luxe - Both great buys, excellent cooling, cable management and room to work in

Corsair HX850 or Seasonic X-850 - for top notch quality and ability to SLI in future .... Corsair TX V2 or XFX Core Edition if budget limited.

Windows - whatever version floats ya boat.

You probably don't need a $230 Z87 motherboard for that CPU. You won't be overclocking and that CPU has a lower TDP. This is a good, cheaper motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131981

Also, I really don't think you need $150 dollar RAM. This RAM has very low latency and is very well rated: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231445

Great choices on your CPU and GPU. If you wanted to, you could probably get a lower wattage power supply, but that's a pretty good price for 750W so you should be happy.

the cpu aren't avaible at Komplett.se and i don't think inet.se sells it if im correct?

Something around the same price (when comparing Komplett's price), whould be the i7-4770K. I would stretch for the i7 if i where you, but i you found the E3-1230 cheaper than Komplett's 2199 price, then you should go for a cheaper motherboard, since you can't overclock Xenon cpus you shouldn't buy a Z87 board, rather get a H87 or something cheaper.

And like Jhact said, you should add a HDD, either upgrade it a month or two later, or put a 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD in the build instead, you're really not going to see any incedible performance or loading boost in any games from using a SSD.

You didn't really read his post, hes buying from sweden and is using Komplett.se and inet.se, he can't use newegg since that requires a bunch of money to send to europe. :)

Oh... sorry! Just kind of skimmed.

I agree with NiCOM on the SSD. I use that same Crucial m500 SSD, and while it is glorious and extremely fast, I am afraid of filling it up. Modern games take up so much space, and once you pack on all you music, pictures, and other media, you will be constantly having to delete and make space. Like, NiCoM, I would recommend an 120GB SSD (for OS) + a 1 TB hard disk for data/games to go with it.

Yeah, definitely you can cut on the motherboard too. You don't need a Z87 powerhouse for a Xeon chip.
