Hi,

The reason I have been running in Test mode the last few days, is, if Im going to be able to play a flight simulator game without joystick, I need a program to trick the PC that my mouse is a joystick. And that program driver is unsigned. So... Is there any risks to run Test mode? Is there any disadvantages?

And the BIG one. Is it possible for me, to make the unsigned driver, signed or something that makes Windows 7 allow it, without test mode?

I have Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 - 64 bit.

Solution
I don't really see any risk in running in test mode.

If you want to set the options for disabling the Digital Signature check to allow for unsigned drivers.
1. Open the Command Prompt window by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then Right clicking Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator".
2. On the Command Prompt type in the command “bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" and "bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON" ” without the quotes.
This should help to disable the Digital Signature.

Another option that might work for you is to Press F8 key upon initial system boot up, and then select Disable Driver Signature enforcementfor that boot session. However, users have to...

However, users have to apply this option every shutdown and restart. An easy solution to the hassle is put computer into sleep or hibernate mode instead of shutting down everytime.

But doesnt the TESTSIGNING ON boot my pc up in test mode, as im already in? I would say no it just disables signed drivers

It is ok to run in that mode, only thing you gotta be aware of is to not download and install all kinds of drivers in that mode.

If you choose to disable digital signature all along (with the TESTSIGNING ON) then you just gotta be sure not to install weird drivers.. But why would you? Most drivers you use comes from trusted sources anyway i guess
