Issues like this are usually due to driver on configuration.
1) IRST drivers have been known to cause this in the past. Might want to uninstall the driver or roll-back - windows can someties reinstall an unsintalled driver so it might be tricky to remove.
2) Media sharing options being enabled in power options can also cause a board to "wake".
3) I have heard of some Nvidia drivers causing this issue in the past as well.

Hi i just bought the Z97-A Mobo and i thought the Bios and performance of it was very sleek and awesome! However, i was wondering if there was a way to set the Mobo to load my graphics card from the Second pci-e x 16 slot instead of the first somewhere in the Bios settings, i can't find it if it is there. Thanks!

I've just read a bit of the Fan Xpert 3 User Guide, now something got me excited
I saw : " on models that have a thermal probe header, (...) attach the probe (...) and have the fan react to that temperature "
I have the MVII Hero ( which has a probe header ) and I plan to watercool my system with an external radiator and four non-PWM fans set on it.
If a thermal probe is put into my reservoir, so FanXpert3 is able to automatically control the rpm of my four rad fans according to the temperature of the water ? THAT'd be real sweetness

It can be done, if you have enough headers for the fans.

I have a hardware questionMy case s the Corsair 400R, I am trying to connect the 10-1 HD Audio front panel cable to the mobo, but it does not go all the way in. Help? Also there's a cable marked 1349 and the manual says nothing about it
If you are using the right connector to the correct header then the issue is liekly the connector having some issue - badly aligned contacts or something of that ilk.

Now if I use that kind of splitter
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13548/cab-464/Akasa_F...
can I hook up all four fans to the splitter, connect it to just one fan header and its molex wire to my PSU, and be able to have FanXpert3 control the four fans at once ? ( just one curve for all four ) while they draw the power directly from the PSU
( still with a temp probe for the water )

I just put together a new system using the Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1. I put the system together with an old hard drive and Win 7 and everything ran great during testing. Today I removed the old hard drive and installed 2 new WD 3TB SATA 6 hard drives and have been trying to get them to RAID 1 all day but no success.
Here are the steps that I think are correct and have been following:
Install hard Drives
Start PC and go into advanced setup and set SATA to RAID
Restart PC and hit CTRL-I and setup RAID Drives
Restart PC and install Win 7
My problem is when Win 7 asks you which partition to install the OS on there are two Identical partitions, when I try to install the RAID driver at this point from the CD, it says that I need a newer version. The version on your web site is the same version on the CD.
Am I missing something here?
Also, I have seen a lot of posts on other forums with people not able to use RAID 1 with Win7.
Any ideas?

Hello dms1
Are you pointing the install to Driver > Disk > 32Bit or 64Bit folder whichever matches your operating system? Also when booting from the Win7 install media are you choosing the device hosting the install that has the UEFI preface. This needs to be done to install as GPT instead of MBR because of the size of the disks.

I gave up on the RAID, I got it all setup, installed MS Office, setup my email and started having the MS updates run, when the system rebooted about the 3rd time Windows would not boot and I was getting a \Boot\BCD error. I tried fixing it with bootrec but it did not work.
Also, I'm kind of pissed that my activation key no longer works even when I type it in during the install ;- (

Hello folks,
Just moved up to the z97 chipset with a 4790k. Win 7 x64 still installed on my ssd from previous build.
I booted to the BIOS, loaded defaults and set the board to xmp mode. Went to select primary boot device, and my ssd was not listed (got my SATA data HDD, Blu Ray drive, and "generic storage device". I went to the f8 boot list and was able to see my ssd there. On booting from that, I get to my login screen and my USB mouse and keyboard turn off their led lights and don't function.
I unplugged the other SATA devices and ensured my ssd is in the first port, now it boots directly to it (was getting a bootmgr error before until I manually selected in bios). However, I'm still having my USB Peripherals turn off at the windows login screen.
I've tried both my asmedia and Intel USB ports, both 2.0 and 3.0. Not sure what else to try
I've attempted unplugging power and holding down the Mobo power button for 10 seconds, a compatability check on memory, booting to safe mode, and reinstalling Windows. I can't do the latter as I have no keyboard or mouse to progress past the first installation screen.
I've now also tried a memok check, cleared cmos, successfully booted to safe mode (still couldn't get past login), attempted OS flashback (needed keyboard), attempted Windows repair (needed keyboard), and reinstalling OS (needed keyboard)
Bios update via USB had no effect
In summary, my USB mouse and keyboard work in bios but as soon as I reach Windows, they turn off.
OS : Windows 7 x64
Mobo: Z97 Pro (Wifi) w/ latest bios version
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k
CPU Cooler: Corsair h110 top exhaust
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 290
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1866 32 gb
Ssd: Samsung 840 Evo 500 gb
Psu: Corsair AX1500i
Sound: Asus Xonar Essence STX
*edit*
Disabling the xHCI Controller in the USB Configuration section of my BIOS solved the problem, for anyone else with similar issues.

I just got this board up and running with a new 4790k. Really happy so far... the USB BIOS Flashhback saved my a major headache trying to hunt down a 1150 chip to update bios... coolest feature i have ever seen on a board.
Anyways i am trying to figure out if the esata supports "Port Multiplier". My first attempt indicates it doesnt and that throws a monkey wrench in my plans

Hi,
I just got an Asus Z97-A, i7 4790K and four sticks of Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1866MHz RAM (two kits of two, if that matters). If I have any sticks in DIMM channel B, during boot the RAM LED stays on for three seconds, the system shuts down, and repeats this.
This doesn't seem to be related to used RAM, since this same happens with some old plain 4GB Kingston stick. I updated BIOS to the latest version 1204. I also checked if I somehow had installed the CPU incorrectly (some older thread of similar issue stated fixing one bent pin fixed it), but at least to my eye the socket is not damaged in any way.
As long as I don't put anything in channel B slots, this seems to work. Any suggestions, or is this probably just a faulty unit?

Couple thought, might try installing the sticks a little more firmly, sometimes you find overly tight DRAM slots, the other would be to loosen the CPU cooler a bit, often see people get the coolers too tight in a corner or side which can unbalance the CPU from lying flat as it should and the result is often loosing a channel of DRAM

...Thank you. I took the CPU cooler off, installed it back and pushed sticks on channel B slots as hard as I dared while being afraid I crack the board, and... it worked. Should have tried that one more time before posting.
I don't know which it was (for some reason during boot it said I have a new CPU installed), but now this seems to work.

Hi there! I just bought the Z97-Pro and had it arrive yesterday and so far the board is running well, but I'm having a fairly big issue.. It isn't detecting my graphic's card at all. In the device manager, its listing nothing. I was hoping you might have some suggestions or a work around for this.
CPU: I5-4670
Motherboard: Z97-Pro
GPU: HIS iPower IceQ X² H290XQM4GD Radeon R9 290X
I've tried this in both the PCI 1-16 Slot and PCI 2-16 Slot to zero results. I'd really appreciate an answer! This is my first Asus product and I'd hate to have to RMA this.

Hi,
I built a new system with the following config and am now stuck at a blank screen whenever the system boots (I did have it running in between) -
OS : Windows 7 x64
Mobo: Z97 Pro (Wifi) (bios not updated)
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k
CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i
GPU: ASUS GTX780TI-DC2OC-3GD5
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB 1866
Ssd: Samsung 840 Evo 250 gb
Psu: CORSAIR HX Series HX750
I had this system up and running and there were no issues initially. When I
tried to change the TPU setting (to the second level), I started receiving
overclocking failures on boot up.
Now I only see a blank screen on booting (though the system is powered on).
I was able to get into BIOS once and I tried to restore all defaults (and I
got the message that no changes were made while exiting). After that my
screen has been blank all the time.
I tried getting the latest BIOS version on a USB and connected it up to the
system, but all I could see was a blank screen. I left the system on for
about 5 minutes hoping that the BIOS was updating in the background. But
all I could see on rebooting was a blank screen.
I've tested that my monitor is not the problem by connecting my laptop to
the monitor and it works fine.
***** Update - I looked up the the display on the Motherboard, and the following Q-code is where my system ends up -
3b - Post Memory PCH Initialization is started
***** Update - Fixed this issue, by hitting the MemOK! button while the system was in operation (following which it powered off). And I'm now able to boot into Windows.

HelloIf power has been removed from the system a double boot is normal when starting up. It is necessary for the configuration of some of the background settings.
so it is completly normal? is it with these new motherboard features that is has to do it? because my older sabertooth 990fx r2.0 amd motherboard dident do it? has it somethink do with UEFI ? so if some compnents are not supported by UEFI it would create somethink like this? i can live with the double booting on cold start think but only if it wont hurt components.

I've got all the other components installed now but DIPS5 says Installed, then tells me to reboot and it's not there and when I run setup again, instead of Installed it says None!Uninstall AI SUite 3 completely (follow all prompts). Then run this cleaner:

After that download the latest UEFI for your board from the ASUS suport page and flash it. Then download and install the latest AI Suite 3 pack.

so in detail what happens:

Is there any way to disable this feature or is it integrated on to the motherboard itself?

When ever i press psu off and on only then it will boot twice and 3rd time its boots to windows. 1st bootup is like 1-2seconds and second boot is little bit longer like 3-5seconds, between those boots there is no post or beep warnings. on warm boots its will boot normally so only when i reset psu it will do this. Is there any way to disable this feature or is it integrated on to the motherboard itself?
It is normal to happen.
does it happen on all boards like mine asus maximus vii ranger ? or is it depending on what parts u have with the board? can u disable this feature somehow? i have never experienced nothing like this on amd boards.

There is no way to disable the power cycle effect. You might be able to change the number of times the system restarts by disabling any unused disabling onboard controllers, BUT it will still happen at least once from AC power cycle regardless.
I would not worry about this needlessly. Enjoy your system.

Might be worth typing out a parts list (can't tell from what you've attached.)

Any error messages in event viewer or any BSOD messages?

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Is the system set to enter sleep mode? Wondering if something is preventing it from doing so and then crashing the system.
If that is the case you'll need to isolate the cause - by removing components.
Other things to make sure:
1) Ensure the board is running the latest UEFI and AI Suite software from the ASUS Support page.
2) Update any drivers on the system from the ASUS Support page (where applicable).
3) Ensure the SSD/HDDs are running the latest firmware versions.
4) Try removing a module of memory and running the system like that - see if the issue persists.

Raja,
I have a new build and everything seems to work ok but two things. My system:
ASUS Z97M Gryphon
Bios 1202 (2014/7/3)
Windows 8.1
i7 4790K
Corsair H100i Liquid CPU Cooler
16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
2 Gigabyte GTX 770
Samsung DVD writer
Corsair LX 256GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
Corsair RM1000 PSU
Corsair 350D MATX Case
2x Corsair AF140 case fans
1x Corsair AF120 case fan
1) I can't seem to 'see' my two Corsair H100i fans, pump, or LED light function on the Corsair Link software. Is it a conflict between ASUS motherboard and Corsair's software? I have bypassed this and plugged the fans directly to the motherboard CPU 1 & CPU OPT with pump into Assist fan. I ensured they are running correctly in UEFI. I am also able to control them in AI Suite but would rather the H100i link software work normally. I have the latest BIOS installed (1202).
2) Also, my Gigabyte GTX 770's (2) has a maximum of 750 rpm (won't spin any faster) in corsair link. Using Gigabyte's OC software, I can override that to go to normal RPM (no overclock). Are these issues caused by a conflict between my Z97M Gryphon motherboard and Corsair's Link software? This may just be a Corsair problem, but I didn't have these problems on my last rig.
