This is an addition to a previous question I had asked on whether to wait for what Nvidia may have in store or to go for a card now. I had forgotten to clarify what card I had so I am making this new one. In that thread I was recommended to get 2 290xs or 780s.

Basically I currently have an XFX 7950 DD card. The options I have are either to wait for the 800 series which seem to be moving further and further away from ever coming around, or go for an upgrade now and maybe sell the card I have now to recoup some funds afterwards, otherwise it will just go to my brother if I don't need to sell it, with the idea that once I have the new card I would then buy a second one once I upgrade the PSU (possibly a 6 to 12 month wait).

Basic PC specs:
i5 3570k
XFX 7950DD 3GB VRAM
8GB GDDR3 Ram
650W PSU
On a 1080p 60Hz monitor (with an LCD TV acting as a second screen)
