I recently moved my desktop to my home and when I went to connect it to the monitor, the monitor was not detecting it. At my dorm, I had it connected to my monitor through HDMI and it worked fine. However, when I went to connect it at home, the connection was not detected. I tested the cable on my laptop and it works so something must be wrong in the desktop. I tested both the motherboard and GPU HDMI slots. I didn't want to open it until I knew what to look for. Could something have gone loose in the desktop that I can simply fix to make the connection work again? The computer powers on and all components seem to be working properly. Thanks!

PC's are picky with HDMI cables, especially if you are using a TV, make sure your cable has gold plated connectors, and try with another cable.
