It seems as if this 24 pin connector on my asrock z77 extreme4 motherboard is too large or something, as the connection coming from the power supply will not stay locked in place in the motherboard. This has been the case for two power supplies that I have had, and I believe it is the reason that the first one I owned died. I'm just trying to make some sense of this as I haven't seen much about this problem online, thanks guys.

The 24 pin connector has a clip, it shouldn't be able to come out without releasing the clip.
Sometimes the supports aren't close enough to the 24 pin connector and you don't want the motherboard to bend when pushing it in. Sometimes you just have to support the motherboard with your hand as you push the connector in.

there is also a lock tab that locks it in so it can not come out. If for some reason this tab is not holding it in, once it is fully connected, you can use some thing small like a folded piece of paper and a small piece of electrical tape to lift the tab to stay locked.
