Want to know if a 550w PSU is good enough with a little bit of headroom for my build?

Hey guyz,
I'm wondering if I should get a 550w PSU or a 650w PSU, I'll be running an R9 270x, an i5 4440, a couple of case fans and a single hard drive. Is it worth spending an extra 20 dollars?
Thanks

Alright , Different people , different views , Here is my opinion , 550W power supply with 80+ Rating will be good to handle most cards , and will handle the card you mentioned , but If you can get a good 650W PSU for just spending 20 More dollars , I really suggest that you go for the 650W.
Reasons : Well , More Watts PSU is cool and heartwarming , also you can overclock better , again you will also be able to add more components to your PC , and lastly , It's a one time option , meaning you will be using that PC for quite a time , so why not go better ? for lesser ?
Best of Luck.

yes, 550w would be ok. if you overclock, run SLI, or try to make you pc into a freezer you would be pushing it

according to newegg, all the enermax PSU with around 550w are around 90 to 130 dollars. for a solid 120 dollars you can get a corsair RM650 80plus gold certified fully modular 650w psu, same thing i have. 650w will provide enough for a mild cooling system (air cooling, basic water cooling) and an SLI setup, with a very minor to no overclock on the CPU.

i recommend you to check out this video if you want some good info on a PSU, saved me a lot of money knowing i wont need a massive power supply.

You're probably right, but I won't be overclocking. Anyways, I might as well just get a 650W just for the occurrence of upgrading. Thanks!
