Well only just about two weeks ago I found out about this CPU and want one. But it's not released for the public yet.
I have seen forums that say a q2 release but also have seen other forums with quotes that point out that q2 isn't the date when you can buy the cpu in a box. Here is the quote.

“Production of the AMD A8-7600 is on track and will be available first to AMD’s OEM customers in Q1 2014 to ENSURE the introduction of AMD based systems in Q2 2014. Additional parts of the AMD A8-7600 for PIB production will be available for sale in the component channel in 2H 2014.”

So H2 is the second part of the financial year. American financial year I assume. Well the 2014 American 2014 fiscal year is named after the ending year it happens in. And this financial year started on 2013 1 October and ends 2014 30th of September. But since it ends in 2014 it's called the 2014 fiscal year. I am not from the USA and where I am from it's the opposite so I got pissed and thought that H2 would be next year since the fiscal year where I live is named after what year it starts in.

Now it's already American H2 because H2 started in April and it's already May now. Being AMD and like most companies when they say H2 do you think they will release it really close to the end of H2. As in release it in September. So in reality it's like the end of Q3 when they will most likely release it but then again they might just delay it again.

Unless the SAY fiscal year they don't MEAN fiscal year. Product release announcements are not based on fiscal year (why would they be) and what you're quoting is from April anyway.

They said second half if 2014. so sometime in the second half of 2014. I.e. July-December

H2 is what they said and sorry but that's only used for the financial year. If you think H2 means the second half of a normal calendar year then..........

Also sorry but many businesses talk in H1 and H2 with fiscal year talk. Clearly you must have never had a job or never did you own tax. Obviously you don't know what you are talking about and are probably some 13 year old kid or something.

How do you think I came to those forums and got the quotes from the company?

Also that is all that is being said about it. AMD have not yet released an actual official date. All they say is H2. That is what this question is about. Clearly you read the title but nothing under it.

I am building a very low watt build and sorry but the A10-7850k has a tdp of 95w.
The A8-7600 has 45w and 65w selections and at 65w it's performance is pretty close to the 7850k.

I am already buying a dc-dc PSU that is fanless and am going to run this system off a solar float charge system. I also have a low watt 23 inch monitor that uses 15w. Why would I ruin the whole system by getting a 95w CPU that not only costs more but also doesn't perform much faster considering how much power it uses.

I see the people on this forum are still low IQ idiots and the answers range from either some dude claiming H2 doesn't mean the second half of the financial year, Or some other dude saying google it, Then some other dude suggesting something I don't even want. I am pretty sure I know what I want.

Also before some other idiot comes on here bashing the dc-dc psu and claims I have to get an 80 plus and inverter. Number 1 that would cost 5 times more to buy and also the power efficiency is less since you are going from DC to AC with the inverter and then from AC back to DC in the PC PSU. A 16% power loss would be typical in that setup where as with DC to DC 7% loss is around max.

Maybe I need to find a site with people that know what they are talking about instead of some kids and trolls. I remember I was on here ages ago and some idiot was blabbing about LED's and claiming you always need a resistor even if the voltage is at or below nominal level. Clearly idiots on here are very lacking in their knowledge.

Look buddy I hate to burst your bubble, but yes Q1, H2 can also be used to refer to a calender year. BUT while we are on the subject fiscal years are set by the company. They are NOT FIXED to start October 1st.

AMDs fiscal year matches the calender year. Their 4th quarter ended December 28th 2013. Their first quarter started in January 2014. That's how AMD has their fiscal year set up. If he said H2 me meant the second 6 months of 2014.

If you don't want to wait just buy something else.

Haha this is the best reply I have ever read on Tomshardware.

The A8-7600 looks like an awesome CPU. Do you need to build now, or can you wait? There are some other options, like the Richland A10-6700 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113332) which is 65W and is close to the 6800K.

Obviously, Kaveri is better, but that may do the trick for you!

Hope I could help!
