DNS Router Problems

I've been having a lot of problems getting web pages to load when I want them to, or to load completely. Sometimes they aren't formatted correctly, sometimes there are a few broken images, and sometimes they don't work at all. Different browsers make no difference here, and I'm pretty sure this is a DNS issue. It helps that chrome tells me as much with messages like DNS_Somethingsomething_NXDomain and DNS_somethingsomething_NoINTERNET (The internet works fine in these cases).

When I plug the modem straight to my PC, all problems are instantly fixed, so clearly my router is to blame in some way, right? I've had this issue for about 2 years, but resetting the modem/router together always fixed it for about a week before it came around again. Now it fixes it for about 12 seconds. The problem is very intermittent. I can go hours without issue, or hours filled with frustration.

My router is a Netgear WGR614v5, if that makes a difference, and I've recently removed all forwarded ports (as well as the static router IP with which to use them) to try and fix it to no avail. IPconfig /all tells me my DNS server is the router address. The router tells me the DNS servers are what they should be. Are these the final, rebellious cries of a dying router, or is there a much simpler solution? I would appreciate your help!

I'm not familiar with that particular model but I would reset to factory defaults, update firmware, and then try testing again going through the router without making any other adjustments and see how it goes.
