Should I be worried about my quad core?

Hi guys,
I've recently started building a gaming PC after receiving a i5-2400 CPU for free.

After seeing the recommended specification for Watch Dogs, Wolfenstein, etc. They state that a 8 core processor is recommended.

Should I be worried about how long my CPU is going to last in gaming terms? What would be the cheapest upgrade route for me?

I've not got it yet, but I'll be getting a r9 280x for my GPU

8 core is the recommended if you have AMD CPU.

yeah should be fine you wont get as good of performance of a new chip but of course still good and very playable
