i want to buy r9 270x 2gb version, but i intend to use dual monitor set up , should i go for r9 270x 4gb version ?
also i want to know if 4gb version is futuristic? bcoz i dont like to keep on changing graphics card every 2-3 years

tell me if i should go for 3gb r9 280x version instead as well or else is there any better card also benig futuristic in these range ?

The R7 270X 2GB is absolutely fine, the 4GB will perform no different.

Use this as an example, though it is gaming and up to 4k resolution, that is the ultimate test for a GPU (4k can count as multiple screens, as the resolution is so high)

http://www.legitreviews.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-760-4g...

No matter what, the 4GB is almost pointless, even though it is capable of using 3.8GB of it, the core itself struggles at that point, making it useless.

R9 280X is clearly a much better choice, if you can expand for it.

OK
BUT SUPPOSE after 2 years if a game is released with 3gb grphcs card ram , then the 2gb version would have become waste and 4 gb who bought those will still continue to use , where as 2gb ones becomes waste , tell me if i am correct? its just i felt 4gb becomes futureproof

not necessarily, games that require of more then 2GB Vram, the 2gB card will perform exactly the same.

That link shows BF4, which uses 2.2GB, even @ 4k resolution, it performs exactly the same.

but if the future games demand 3.5+ gb graphics card ram , will the 2gb graphics card still play 3.5gb+ games ?

if yes then i would go for 2gb version , if no then will the 4gb version be liable option even at future gaming ?

yes, the core will struggle before the vram will even needed, and when it is used and needed, it won't make much of a difference.

The 2GB is plentiful, the 4GB not so much, but more of a marketing gimmick to make people think; double the Vram, much better or even double the performance.

nope, the review I linked using 3 1080p monitors didn't help with a 4GB card, even when over 2GB is used, it doesn't help.

It will only help in crossfire, otherwise no point getting it.

5 years is a very long time, 4 more Graphics card generations will be released after that, you will be able to use it for 5 years, though it will be seriously outdated before then.

how about if i crossfire r9 270x after 5 years , will it be worth it ? coz i cant spend high money on high end graphics card 3gb and 4gb versions one, also upgrading every 5 years is a big headache.

or can u give me one good graphics card in that range which can stand for that many years? , as u know my needs

If you crossfire later on, then you'll want the 4GB R9 270X.

I don't have a review handy, but the reason for this is when you have 2GB vram per card in crossfire, it does not make 4GB, so your running 2GB on 2x256 but memory busses, whereas the 4GB, you are running 4GB on 2x256bit memory busses, a much better option.

I prefer one better single GPU over crossfire setups, the reason why I went from 7990 to 1 R9 290X.

actually i cant invest to 290x one, even i cant buy 280x one, but even if i buy 280x 3gb one it would last long as much as 270x in terms of years of usage and again i need to invest in high end graphics card at very fast rate , that i why i am investing in low budget coz every often with coupe of years one needs to change pc config all components , tell me if i am right ? . so what will be the difference in fps between 4gb vs 2gb versions i would like to know . will it be almost double in 4gb crossfire than 2gb crossfire

R9 280 is a pretty good investment.

It's not always about vram, 3GB is fine for a long time.

very hard to predict, I will never know due to as I don't know the requirements for upcoming games.

The R9 280X will be able to max out games for longer then R9 270X, but as games get more intense, lowering settings is what you'll have to do. In 5 years time, who knows what games will require.

what do you mean by steamroller?

The new AMD FX processors?

990FX boards have the best chance at supporting those new CPU's.
