It's compatible, and you can use either the top OR the top-rear.
I'd use whichever one is most likely to exhaust better if inside a desk. If it's out in the open and not right against a wall it doesn't matter. If in doubt use the TOP.
For optimal cooling, make sure the other top/rear slots are either blocked or have a fan spinning (even if barely spinning).
