Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me?

My windows 7 laptop won't startup, it begins to startup and then resets again, I've tried pressing f8 and starting it in every possible configuration with no luck. System repair is also not doing anything, I've tried leaving system repair for up to 3 hours and it still won't work. Before it stopped working the laptop was very slow and sometimes freezing, I had been having trouble with itunes, it was slowing everything down, I had just uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it before the startup problem occurred.

Any ideas? thanks,

Barry.

Test the hard drive, it may be starting to fail. Back up all your data to another drive now before the drive decides to give up altogether, then test it. Don't try testing it with windows -based software, use the drive manufacturer's diagnostic DOS-based software which loads from a boot CD.

Seagate SeaTools CD Image (any brand of drive): http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-dos-master/

WD Data Lifeguard CD Image: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/63494-looking-for-western-digital-data-lifeguard-iso/

IMGBurn software to create a bootable CD from the CD Image:

If the drive is healthy, test the RAM modules with Memetest86. Same procedure, create a CD from the Memtest CD Image ISO file: http://www.memtest.org/

Hi Barry! I'm experiencing exactly the same issue and I'm pretty convinced that's due to a virus. Do you finally solved your problem?

Thank you in advance!
Antonio
