I have been wanting a new monitor for a couple years now, my current Dell U2711 1440P i've had it since it originally came out, its the A00 spec.

It works great, I don't think it will ever die, i've used the hell out of it and its a great monitor.

I purchased a Titan video card last year, and then sold it upgraded to a EVGA 780ti Classified in hopes of going 4k.

I was looking hard at the Dell/Asus 32" monitors but the price is kinda putting me off, I saw the Dell UP3214Q on sale for $1,800.00 new on Newegg the other day and almost bought it.

The UP3214Q has horrible reviews, lots of adoption issues, buggy firmware etc. It looks like I would need another EVGA 780ti in SLI to run most games at 60hz in 4k MST.

So I really don't know my current monitor still works fine, although it is bulky, runs really hot (I can feel the heat radiating off it, kinda bugs me.) In the summertime my whole computer area is hot due to it, and have the AC cranking right down on my monitor.

I was looking at the 30" Dell U3014 which I can get for around $800, and that would get me through until 4k matures to the point of adoption.

The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q is another choice, but I am getting impatient and I have heard rumblings of continued production problems, delays, it doesn't appear currently that it is going to launch this year.

Your opinions and insights would be welcomed.

Thanks,
Moth

I would SLI the 780 Ti's and do Surround in 1440p personally. 4k is amazing, and is definitely going to be awesome for gaming, but I don't think it's *quite* matured enough yet.
