i want to update the bios on my msi r9 280x. i corrupted one of the bios by fail flash and i am using the 2nd bios atm.
i got a new bios which would work. but i want to flash the bios which is corrupted. my pc wont boot if i use the corrupted bios and thats how i cannot update the corrupted bios. and as i was told i cannot flip the switch while the card is running.
thats the reason i want to use a 2nd card xfx 4870 for display and update the corrupted bios on my r9 280x.
is it possible? can someone help me with this

I would check with AMD support, you don't want to kill the 280X totally by doing thing without official guidance from AMD. You can also check with them if a failed BIOS update is covered by warranty.

i got everything fixed . thanks to the msi forum support. what i did was used an nvidia for display. didnt use and amd card coz there would be an issue when flashing the new bios. it could go to any of the cards. i didnt bother installing any nvidia drivers or stuff as all i wanted was to just boot to dos to update the bios.
i flipped the switch on my r9 280x to the corrupt bios. powered up the machine and successfully updated the corrupt bios. and everything is fine now
