The current fan on my heatsink (Hyper 212 Evo) has trouble starting up every time I shut down my computer. It requires me to remove it and manually spin it until it "loosens up". It's a hassle so I want to exchange it. Can I buy a new fan and remove the old or do I need to buy an entirely different heatsink?

I'm also looking for some nice looking case fans to exchange with the ones I have currently. Are these any good? If not, any suggestions are welcome. If it helps, my colour scheme is blue, black and white.

Any fan of the same diameter should work as long as you have the hardware to mount the new fan. I have a Hyper 212 as well and strapped a 2nd fan on it but I'm at work at the moment and don't remember exactly how I did it.

I put a cougar vortex on my 212 evoevo and its been same performance but much more quiet and sexy looking. A noctua f12 or whatever its called will be better but is louder and more expensive .

Those case fans are high quality but not silent unless u use speed profiles in the BIOS or speedfan.exe. if u hook those or any fan directly to the PSU for power and not through the motherboard, it will run at full rpm all the time. The motherboard and temps will be what control fan speeds.

Generally u want
a. High cfm
B. High rpm
C.low decibal
Good luck

The Nocuta is NOT louder than the Cougar. If your case has a window on it, I would get the Cougar or Corsair AF120 for performance, quietness and looks. If you're not worried about looks or anything, the Noctua AF12 would be amazing, and extremely quiet.

For the case fans I would also go with the Noctuas, for performance and quietness, but the Corsair AF 120s are also great, and cost less. Again, the Cougars would also be great. I have a couple setup as intakes on my NZXT H440 now.
