Router and the usb dongle both support wireless N but upon check on connectivity on the router it's connected with 802.11g. Is there a way to get the connection through 802.11n?

Solution
You probably need to enable the wireless 'N' protocol in the wireless section of your router's web-based configuration utility, using a wired connection:

1) Open any web browser, type 192.168.0.1 in to the address bar, then press <Enter>.

2) At login screen, default username is admin in lowercase, leave password field blank unless you created one.

3. Click 'OK'
