Just a simple question. Is the i3-4340 soldered to the die or does it use the same TIM as the 4770k and other models?

Also, a link to a review that mentions temperature results would be appreciated. I can't seem to find a good one.

I believe it is TIM just like the other Haswell chips. I also wouldn't get an i3 4340. You may as well spend the extra $25, or so, and get an i5 4430/4440. Also, for non overclocking chips, heat really isn't an issue with regards to TIM or soldered to die. It is the overclocking chips that really have issues due to this.

Thanks. The reason I am looking at the i3 is because I have a Micro Center near my house and they offer a bundle with the i3 to get $30 off my motherboard, and the CPU itself will only be $120-130. It will come out to a much greater savings. Also, those i5s will only perform marginally better for my needs on this build.

My main rig is a 4770k delidded and sitting at 60c tops in gaming with an H60 cooler @ 4.6GHz core / 4.3GHz cache. I know delidding an i3 would be unnecessary, but I enjoy doing it. I also like seeing temperatures as low as possible, even if it doesn't help me much. I know, I'm weird.
