Ive just had a new motherboard, 16gb ram 8 core 8350 And a r9 290 graphics card but for some reason when I put the graphics card in the system nothing shows up on the display?

Solution
Yes you can. Do you have both the 6/8 pin ports on the card connected to your PSU? What is the make/model of the PSU? Is your monitor set to the same input as your card's output; HDMI, DVI, VGA?

hi i have a 750w psu the brand is ace the model is A-750 BR. im trying to connect to my 32 inch tv at the moment cause i dont have a dvi to connect my monitor.

You didn't answer whether or not you have both the 6 pin and 8 pin header powered on the card. Both have to be fed before the card will work.

If this is your PSU: http://www.box.co.uk/750W_Ace_Value_Black_PSU_24_Pin_with_12c_1085011.html
... it would be my first suspect for the problem. It is rather poor quality and not a true 750W unit with only 2 x +12 rails rated at 22A each. Plus, it only comes with a single 6 pin PCIe cable... another give-away that it is low powered.

ive changed my psu to a 650 viper x 80 bronze and the card now powers up but after about 5 mins my computer gets a blue screen error and restarts the error is as follows :

i have the same exact issue with my m5a78l-m usb3 i am not sure wither its the mobo or the drivers because the gpu runs just fine when i uninstall the driver i have got a corsair cx750 psu 8gb RAM windows 8.1 pro anyone know a solution? 🙁

I would first make sure your motherboard has the latest BIOS installed: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LMUSB3/HelpDesk_Download/

Then uninstall any Catalyst gfx driver and run Driver Sweeper form Safe Mode. http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html
Have it remove any AMD and Nvidia graphic driver remnants it can find.

Then reboot and run CCleaner to clean up any Registry errors and other crap that may be causing software conflicts: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Lastly, install the latest driver again for your card and OS.
