BUFFALO External hard drive work with my laptop and not work with my desktop.

I have BUFFALO HD-PNTU3_2.31 one TB external hard drive password protected, Its work perfectly work with my laptop, my laptop operating system is windows 7 but not work (not showing any activity after plug in) with my desktop PC, my desktop's operating system is windows 7 professional. I already check my desktop's usb port its working fine.
Kindly give me solution.

May just need a drive letter assigning (adding) to it:

Windows 7/Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/change-add-remove-drive-letter#1TC=windows-7

possibly you need a powered USB hub to supply enough power to run the drive.
