Im buliding a pc to take place of my ps4. i need to know if my set up will function properly.

GPU: XFX Double D R9 270x

CPU: AMD FX 6300

Storage: Seagate 50gb 7200 rpm (ST500DM002)

RAM: 4Gb Kingston HyperX Red 1600Mhz

MOBO: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3

PSU: EVGA 100-W1-500-KR 500W

Case: Fractal Core 1000

Im on a budget and i hope what i have will do the job for games like DayZ and Arma and Battlefield 4.
Thanks

Using Windows 8

Solution
It will get you High/Ultra, but it really depends what kind of FPS target you're looking for. In Battlefield 4 with Mantle, you should get Ultra at around 45+ FPS. ARMA III is pretty hard on the CPU, so I would guess around High settings, and you'll get a mix of High/Ultra in DayZ just fine.

And yes, the build above is fully compatible :) No bottlenecking anywhere.
That's all compatible and will work. That motherboard is on the absolute minimal side of power delivery though. What is your overall budget? I would like to get you into a 970 series board at least for stability purposes.

The 6300 and 270x are great CPU/GPUs, and will definitely get you good performance in those games - much better than a PS4 could ;)

Budget is around $600 im currently just under without factoring in Windows 8. What MOBO did you recommend out of that series? This is all very new to me so i appreciate all the help.
and this may be a dumb question but how to i install Windows 8 if im not purchasing an optical drive?
Thanks for all the help!

Here's a build with a better motherboard, gets you to 8GB of RAM, includes the optical drive, a great power supply, and everything else needed for a great budget gaming system :)

This is my first experience with PC's of any sort. How difficult is the building process? What should i refer to when i have a question? Any things i should be especially careful about?
Thanks for all the help its greatly appreciated!

Both do a GREAT job of explaining the entire build process step by step, and warn you about what to do and what not to do.

My biggest piece of advice would be to take your time and enjoy the build, don't try to rush or force anything in that doesn't require it (which is everything except RAM). And also, don't be afraid to look at the owner's or installation manuals for ANY part if you don't know. I still look at manuals just to make sure I'm doing it right lol

Most importantly, just have fun with it :)
