I think it's about time that I got a new computer.. every game I play has less then 10 fps (drops to 0 when moving sometimes)

I can build my own system with ease, I'm just a little unsure on what parts to look for when it comes to gaming.
(I'm also open to buying a system that is already built)

My price range is right around $600 at the moment..

Keep in mind, ANYTHING is better then what I play on at the moment, I currently use;
Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop (on-board Intel HD graphics LOL)
4gb RAM
i3-2370m CPU - 2.4ghz

I have keyboard and mouse I can use and a monitor
I also have a copy of Win 7 I can install on the new system

I would appreciate any suggestions from the gaming gurus ^_^

Thanks all

Thank you! This is exactly what I'm looking for!
I like this build, I might make some tweaks (higher quality mobo, 4gb more RAM)

I've always been an Intel guy, so I must ask... how is AMD overall? and would I be better going with i5/i7 build like I see everywhere?

Yah know I'm a intel/nvidia guy too. but for the price you just cant beat a fx6300 its only $100 and the mothorboard are like half the price. In a sub $800 id always go with the 6300. Suztera the 270x is not nearly as powerful as a 760. so i fail to see how it is better. Although 8g of ram is the sweet spot the difference if 4 to 8 is minimal. The PSU is much better but its not modular.

Ryan what i would do is bump up your budget $100 get a slightly better psu as the cx series i listed isnt exactly the best. and upgrade to the 770 or 280x and get a single stick of 4g, then later when you have another $30 get another for 8g of dual chanel

Edit: also look on pc part picker for different cases. there are a lot of rally cool ones out there. you can put the micro in a mid tower too. or swap out the micro for a full atx
