the new k refresh is a few days, maybe weeks away. worth the wait, suppose to be 4.4 ghz on turbo alone.

The best CPU going ahead for gaming without making assumptions is the i5-4570 or the i5-4670k if you are into overclocking.

planetside still uses up all cpu power and spits out low fps in big fights, same as starcraft 2, some games cant run very good so just buy something like the i5 4670k as of this date and you cant wait.
