Yes it will, it uses a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot, and the Z77 Extreme 4 has 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slots, so you could add a second 7950 to crossfire later on.

Thank you, I was just wondering because I'm not sure if I should go with a AMD Radeon 7950 or a R9 270x. I want to game and do a little of mining. Could one of you help me out with that? Which one should I go with?

7950>270X.
A 7950 is basically a R9 280. I don't see the point of mining now though.

The 270x is a 7870 and the 280 is the 7950. Both were rebranded and refreshed with the R9 names along with mantle tech.

If you look on ebay you can find a used 7950 at a decent price for ~$150, but be aware that these cards might have been mined with before.

If you're going for the 270x you might as well get the 270 and overclock it. The cheapest one right now is XFX's version @$160 on newegg.

Also the mining train has long gone, so don't expect any profit there.

If I find one on ebay, what would be the maximum time I should allow for mining, 2,3,4,5 months? Which one would you go with in this situation?

I would go for the least amount of time possible. Also check the seller reputation and past sales to make sure they're reliable. I would also ask the seller if he could run some stress tests and record it to make sure it's properly working.

Personally I'm comfortable buying used as long as I know the item is reliable and the sale is safe.

Thanks! I don't know a whole lot of GPUs. I will most likely go with the 7950 because it has 1 GB more of dedicated ram.

It's more off a test to see it is functioning fine, so score shouldn't be an issue. Check for stability and that no artifacts appear during the test.

Would screenshots work or recording would be better for the stress test?

Recording, and make sure he provides physical evidence in the video that is actually his, e.g a notecard with sellername and date on it.

It's great, just a bit off the 760 in terms of performance. Youtube is a good place to view some gameplay with it just search your CPU and 7950 and you should find tons of gameplay videos.
