Hi all,
Well I have 2 problem with my Microsoft Windows XP laptop. Well first of all my other computer works fine with all this but that is the family computer. This is my own so I can download things on it,but the thing is I always have to use an offline installer to download things.Because I have internet that can browse the web go to youtube,etc...But downloading I can't do.I check the internet reconnect it...ALOT I go to the internet options change things but it still wont download. After that I take down firewalls than try again but it still doesnt work. Please help me with that if you can. Also second of all my web browsers Safari and Google Chrome work fine with the internet. But all of a sudden my Internet Explorer and Firefox dont connect to the internet:(. My Chrome and Safari are fine so I compare the internet options on all 4 but they all are the same.I check everything I can do but it wouldn't help Fire fox and IE ( I also tried redownloading still doesn't work)...Plz help me I want to download things :(.

Link 1 and Link 2.

Both of these options will monitor your internet connection and will let you know if there are any moments of disconnection. The first option is an application and therefor won't rely on the browser, which may be a better solution in this situation since you say you are having problems with IE and Firefox, but not Chrome or Safari. Few questions to start out:

When you download a large file what happens exactly and what errors pop up if any?
What errors are FireFox/IE displaying when they stop working but Chrome/Safari work?
Which firewalls are you currently running?
Are you connected using a wired or wireless connection? Have you tried switching from one to another?
When was your last Virus/Malware Scan...

Lastly, can you download a copy of Hijackthis and post a copy of the log that it produces?

This information will help narrow down the problem a little better, best of luck to ya and look forward to your response. - Sub
