Hi guys,

I would really appreciate if you could suggest any possible upgrades for my PC. Its quite old and rusty now, but I just got a Samsung EVO SSD and realised I want to upgrade something else haha.

ASUS M4A87TD/USB3
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
MSI GTX460 Cyclone 768mb GDDR5
RAM 4GB not sure of exact model
Power 550w, not sure of model as well

This currently runs on Full HD and it would be nice to get the games running on high at least. Getting a new GPU would probably be a good idea but I have no clue what my motherboard can support and whether the CPU would bottleneck a new GPU or not.

Thank you for your opinions and suggestions.

By full HD I presume you mean you have a 1920x1080 monitor. That MB (AM3 socket) is about at the extreme as to the processor it can use. A Phenom II X4 980BE or 1100BE may get you a bit more oomph, but the gfx card would be the best way to improve gaming performance. You could move up to an R9-280/280X or GTX 760. Anything more powerful and CPU bottle neck will start wasting your money.

It doesn't matter really as long as the uprage itself is worth the cost. But I would rather not replace every single hardware component either, just those which really matter.
