Hi, I have an Acer TC 105 desktop. I custom built it a week ago.
I installed a new GPU, Radeon hd 7770 1GB GDDR5, Corsair 600w power supply.
My processor is AMD A10 6700, 8 Gb RAM, 1 TB disk space.
I want to improve my gaming performance because I'm not happy with the results.
Crysis 3 - 25-30 fps
Assasins creed 4 - 25 - 40 fps
Graphics are on medium settings.
How can I increase my gaming performance.
If you can, please give me some suggestions that will fit into my Acer motherboard.
I want Assasins creed to go over at least 40 fps.

Here's a quick test to try:
1. Lower the resolution as far as it will go.
2. Turn off anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering.

Does the performance get much better? If so, you *might* need a faster video card.

Also, double check and make sure you are not running off of the integrated graphics. The monitor is plugged into the video card plug (not the motherboard plug) and integrated graphics is disabled in the BIOS and/or PCI Express is enabled.

Did you also, get the latest video card drivers directly from AMD ... and also all the drivers from your motherboard's website?

What is your Budget for a new graphics card anyway?? Do you know the Exact MB MOdel??? ...is this it by chance???: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-AAHD3-VC-Motherboard-AMD-A........................
As far as I can tell there is only one PCI-E 16x slot. so crossfire is probably not an option as it would be the cheapest solution to just add another Radeon HD 7770 1Gb. From Nvidia the best performing low to mid range GPU is the GTX 750 Ti and AC 4 is said to use Nvidia very well now after the patches and latest driver..http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681.... AMD has the R7 260X and 265 for about the same price. Though it would make more sense to buy a more powerful GPU for the extra performance. AMD has a few more options in the mid range....R9 270,270X,280x. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681..... The green team has a few deals right now..http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681... thse Cards are under 300...

Yeah, I disabled the on board video before installing GPU, PCI Express is enabled. And yes, I got the latest drivers from the AMD website. Do you think it's something wrong with my AMD A10 6700 CPU? Cuz when I play any game like Assasins creed, the fan is very loud and the CPU usage goes up to 98%
Or am I lacking RAM? I only have 8 gigs.

I do wonder if the CPU is fast enough to run the game. Consider this benchmark:
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1765/pg6/amd-rich...

In addition, if I compare the A10 6700 to other processors, it appears the performance ranges from half to ~3/4 the performance of a good mainstream processor like the 3770K or 4770K. So..., my guess is the CPU *might* not be fast enough.

If your CPU is maxing out near 100% in a game, like you mentioned, then that would further suggest the CPU is the cause.

Considering all these changes you are making, it would have been a LOT better if you could custom build the computer yourself. Not only might the price be better, but you would have higher quality parts and faster parts as well.

... give me some more time to figure out what CPU can be put into the computer...

I wish you still had the option to return the computer and build yourself though.

Can you suggest a good CPU that might fit in my motherboard?
I'm not really sure what my motherboard is but I do know my desktop is Acer Aspire TC 105 EB11
Can you make sure teh socket of the motherboard also fits the CPU?
would really appreciate it!!!!!!!

Long story short. You can't put a faster CPU on that motherboard. You will need a new motherboard. At this point you are basically rebuilding the entire computer with better parts.

Would you like a good motherboard + CPU recommendation?
