I got a new Asus VG248QE and i seem to be haveing problems with vga and its not the cable or monitor so is the psu compatible?? cause everytime a try vga i get these red lines across my screen and glitchs out?

i reealy dont care what port it is i just want the 120hz and 144hz my monitor shoukd be prouceing , here. i plug in cable to vga it does not work , i plug it in to dvhd it works fine but it locks at 60hz . how do i get the dvhd to 120hz/ 144hz cause my monitor can do it?
