Hard drive split up into tiny parts

So I just got a 1TB hdd and when I set it all up and turned on my computer I saw 4 more hdds showing. I have heard some hard drives do this so I was fine with it until I looked closer and saw that each has only about 200-300mb on them exept one that has 3.99gb. They seem to have files on them already. Like logs and .gz files and stuff. If someone could please help me ASAP my other hdd is full and I really need the storage.

Sounds like the drive has had OS's installed on it at some point. Go into Disk Manager. Delete all the partitions. Make one new partition. Intialize and quick format it. Should be good to go.

reformat the drive, delete the partitions, you can do this in windows 7, hit the windows key, type into the search bar "Disk Management ", open the console, right click on the drive in question, delete all the partitions, reformat the drive.

So by partitions you mean the extra drives? Would all the storage go back to the one H drive?

Used is much cheaper.
