What is your current backup and failover location look like?

For a system of this size, you'll need something like 16 X 2TB SAS/SATA Drives in RAID 6(or ZRAID2) or 16 X 3TB Drives in RAID 10.

You'll need a SAS controller with at least 4XSAS or minSAS ports.

How do you plan to backup 20TB or is the data expendable?

Now I have at least 10 TB of data in individual machines and want a central storage / NAS to store all the data. Can i go for a Mother board with at least 6 SATA ports? I am planing to install 5x4TB HDD with free NAS. Is it possible without usin any SAS controller or SATA Raid controller?

First of all there is no way to set up 5X4TB drives with any redundancy. If you want to set up 5 INDEPENDANT drives in a NAS as a BACKUP(not the only copy) of your data from various locations you can do that with any motherboard with 5 free SATA ports.

I wouldn't recommend any system of that size with 4TB drives and obviously not in SPAN or RAID0.
See my above post for the minimum safe configurations IMO.
