Hi all. First post here and getting ready to attempt my first ever build. I have a tendency to keep PCs for a long time and upgrade parts as I go so it's a requirement that I don't get bottom/middle of the line in the core parts (what I would consider the mobo/CPU/RAM/case). I've upgrade video cards, ram, SSDs, and PSUs in my old rig before.

I limited vendors to Amazon and Newegg because I have gift cards to those places.

Hi, BigMac1082,

You've picked up very good components for your upcoming rig.
Just my two cents, you could go with a NZXT Full Tower.
Nice to see that you picked out a Fully Modular PSU.

Good luck with your build!
Cheers!
:)

If you don't plan on video editing much then you could save some cash on your CPU and get an i5 4670k, putting that extra cash somewhere else. Games don't take advantage of hyper threading from the i7 at the moment. Otherwise solid build! Pretty close to something I plan on building in the future.

Also if you can wait until the 'K' series comes out for the Devil's Canyon processors (i5 4690k, and i7 4790k) you can grab yourself a Z97 mobo and go from there, but there's no definitive date on when the K series are coming out.

Hope you enjoy your build! :)

what about this build ?
1-A very high end build which will stand for a long time
2-I tried as much as possible to match the color themes so that it looks good
3-If you bought it, Move the rear fan of the case to the front, Move the top fan of the case to the side and put the radiator on the top
