Hi all,

I am having a bit of trouble with my computer. The VGA port doesn't work. I have a GTX 760, an ASUS Z87-plus mobo and a i7 4770K on my computer. I needed to plug into a monitor for a presentation (the monitor was a VGA), and the monitor didn't pick up the computer. We then proceeded to plug my laptop into it, and it showed my laptop screen. Luckily I has a DVI cable, because I plugged in my PC to the monitor through the DVI, and it worked.

Both of my HDMI ports work, and all of my DVI ports work. Now what is it with my VGA, and how can I fix it so it will work.

Im assuming the GTX 760 is the Gigabyte one listed in your signature? Because that GPU does not have a VGA on the card. Are you sure you didnt plug the monitor into the motherboard VGA? If you did that, it wont work, as the onboard GPU is disabled by default when a GPU has been installed.

Yeah it's a Gigabyte GPU. The only VGA port I have is on the motherboard, so that's where I plugged it in. I also have a HDMI and DVI port on both the GPU and the Motherboard, which all work.

So if I understand what your saying, to have the VGA to work, I have to disable my GTX 760, and run Intel's onboard graphics to be able to use the VGA? Is there anyway in which I can run my 760 and have a VGA monitor plugged in at the same time?

I have the Z87-PRO(which is what your forum signature says you have?) and i was unable to get the Intel GPU to work while the 760 was installed, even after changing bios settings to allow both to work at the same time.

To make it work, im pretty sure you have to actually remove the 760 entirely, as it will still be detected, or you cant make it work, as i said above.

A far easier solution is a DVI to VGA adapter, such as this:

All you would have to do is connect the adapter and it should work fine
