How much of a bottleneck would my CPU be for a GTX 760?

Hi,

I have the system as following:

AMD A6-3670K
Jetway A55 Motherboard
Corsair CX600M
8GB RAM
MSI HD 7770 Power Edition

So,

1) How much of a bottleneck would my CPU be for a GTX 760?
2) Will it harm the 760 in any way (as i'm planning to get an I5 4570 later down the road)?

Cheers :D

Not much but try to get i5 4770k it will last more years
  2. It's way out of my budget, i sticked to 4570 already. Will it harm my 760?

All most any i5 wont bottleneck a 760.
  4. I meant will my current A6-3670K harm that 760 in any way?
  5. slight bottleneck, not the end of the world though, and no harm or damage being done.

When you get that new CPU, it won't matter. Either way, the 760 with your A6 CPU will still give you much better performance then 7770 anyways, go for it!
  6. Really? Just a slight bottleneck? Some of my friends even called me crazy for pairing a low end APU with GPU like that. Lol

Anyways, my CPU is equivalent to an athlon ii x4 640 AFAIK (looking on some benchmark) that might help you to reconsider your statement. :p

I'm not disbelieving you or anything, i'm just curious how in the world could it be possible. :D

It can't harm your new gpu

It'll most certainly bottleneck, but it is nothing absolutely huge, though it is a reasonable amount, but even with the bottleneck you will get much better FPS with that then your 7770. If you overclock your APU, you will reduce the bottleneck.
  9. I5 2500k will work a treat with the 760
  10. I have a i5-4440 CPU 3.10GHz, Will this graphics card bottleneck my cpu/any other component?
  11. there is only a bottleneck if your CPU is currently at or close to 100% usage. If not, there simply is no bottleneck.

Ok thanks, I have one other question.

The slot in the back of my pc where the Power Supply Unit goes, dose not look like a standard ATX slot, how do i find out what my one is called? (so i can buy a new psu for the new graphics card to get enough power)
