I was wondering if there is any real difference between the two performance wise. The PNY is about $50 cheaper than the Gigabyte. Is there any particular reason for this or are they the same quality card? Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!

different brands offer different coolers, also warranty and quality is another thing.

For a $50 difference, the PNY would be the better vale/performance card to get.

The Gigabyte Card will have better quality standards for sure.

Are you running SLI/high res/multiple monitors? If not then there is no point in spending the extra money on the 4GB card.

Dylzan, totally agree.

I just had a huge argument about that, tired of doing it again, so everyone look at the reviews, Guy was stubborn, even though completely wrong.

Please everyone who wish to argue;

Look here;

3 screens @ 1080p and 1 screen @ 1080p with the 2GB GTX 770, makes no difference, at all. Even some of those games use more then 2GB Vram, didn't effect the scores.

There are more reviews supporting this, if anyone would like to challenge.

I'm running multiple monitors at 1920x1080. I'd like to go for the 4gb card because I'd like to 'future-proof' my system as much as possible, so if I'm going to be spending $350ish for the 2gb, I'd rather get the 4gb for $50 more

Or you could save a little more and buy an R9 290(X) instead.

Look above^^

three 1080p screens on ultra with modern day games, no difference, even when more the 2GB Vram is used. It is only usefull in SLI.

I agree that Gigabyte has better quality then PNY for this GPU. I was using a PNY GTX 770 2Gb XLR8 and It had numerous issues as well as just being underpowered probably due to having used lesser quality components on the PCB. The power design is not as efficient as the other vendors like Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte,..ect...I can't stress enough how I should not had jumped at the first deal I saw on a GTX 770 last summer. So even though the GPU is the same and you may get around the same performance in games The PNY version has almost not Overclocking headroom, well not enough to make a difference in FPS.
..And like unknownofprob said the 4Gb version won't make a difference at 1080p and even if your plan on upgrading to 1440p or higher the GTX 770 4Gb does not really have the extra oomph to play the more demanding titles at the resolution at decent framerates....I would get the Asus DCII or EVGA/ACX...GTX 770s with 2Gb. Last week I saw good prices for the Asus GTX 770 2Gb DCII OC and the Gigabyte GTX 770 windforce...

Is it possible that the 4gb will be useful alone in the future? Like for newer games etc

Not before you'd have to upgrade your card anyway,

by the time the extra vram is used, the core itself is generally already struggling, so it most likely won't help at all.
