Hey guys,

I have some questions (again):

My current monitor is a Samsung T220, TN Monitor with a 2ms response time.

I want to buy one of the following monitors:
Iiyama's ProLite GB2488HSU 24" gaming monitor 144hz 1 ms
or
Samsung S24D590PL IPS/PLS 24" monitor with 5 ms GTG

And before anyone asks here is my setup:
Gigabyte GTX 770 2gb
i7 4770k (soon 2 be OC'ed)
16 gigs of DD3-RAM at 1800 mhz
Corsair H100i Liquid Cooler
GA-Z87X-UD5H Motherboard
and a 3TB HDD

So here are my questions:
-I have gtx 770, do i have any advantage of buying a 144hz monitor or wouldn't i see any because of my GPU? All in all, is it worth buying a 144hz monitor with my current setup?
-If i buy the samsung IPS monitor will i notice a difference coming from a 2ms TN monitor to a 5ms IPS monitor? I will have vsync off so pls take that into consideration? So will i notice any ghosting or something like that?
-Which one would you suggest and why?

Thank you in advance!

No advantage till you get over 60 fps. Buy one if you think you'll notice the gaming difference.

You might notice the difference from 5ms to 2ms but I wouldn't. Depends how serious about gaming you want to get.
All things being equal, 1ms is better than 5ms. I'm not interested in IPS panels - I don't play side on to the screen. But 144Hz might help with high fps games.

Ty for the reply but what i forgot to mention is that i'm an allround gamer, so play BF4, CoD, WoW, Sim City, GTA, SR, so a lot, but i also like to watch movies on it etc. What would be the best choice and again:

I need some more opinions and pls a more elaborate answer, Ty!

The BenQ monitor is btw the following BenQ RL2455HM, btw i read that the Samsung IPS monitor has a 17.2 ms input lag, it has 5ms GTG is that a world of difference with 2ms? so with my current monitor? will i notice it?

Why not wait until some G-Sync/Free Sync (or whatever variable refresh tech) is widely available first? That will have far more impact on apparent smoothness than any fixed frequency solution could ever show.

Most IPS panels have issues with fast motion looking blurry. Playing on large 60hz screens is also a screen tearing nightmare. It's quite a bit harder to notice the faster your refresh rate is, but is completely eliminated by a variable refresh rate enabled monitor.

You will see some benefits. Even using windows is more smooth at 144hz, like moving windows around or even moving the cursor. In games, you will have no visible screen tearing, and a very responsive monitor. 144hz 1ms gaming monitors are instantaneous, you feel extremely connected to the player. You should notice a difference when playing FPS games for sure. Plus when you get around to upgrading your GPU, your monitor will have more potential. 144hz is awesome.. every time I play on 60hz now it feels terrible.

I've never heard of the iiyama though. You should check the prices of the ASUS VG248QE where you live, it's a great monitor with a high quality stand. It's also 3D capable, so if you ever feel like doing 3D in the future when you have a better GPU, you will be able to. I recently got a 3D kit for my monitor and it's actually really awesome.
