Solution
I would highly recommend you wait for the ROG SWIFT to be released next month. Less than 30 days to wait for the ultimate gaming monitor. The ROG SWIFT will feature G-Sync, Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB), 10-bit TN panel (some say equivalent to PLS panels), 2560 x 1440 resolution (the very first TN panel with this resolution), 144Hz refresh rate, and an ultra low 1ms response time. If FPS games are your main forte' I would tell you that the ROG SWIFT is an absolute must. However, if you are only a casual gamer and play primarily MMO RTS and RPG type of games, then the QNIX2710 or Overlord Tempest X270OC monitors will do just fine. But be forewarned, PLS and IPS technology based monitors have a lot higher response times (5-12ms vs...

But be forewarned, PLS and IPS technology based monitors have a lot higher response times (5-12ms vs 1-2ms for TN panels). It's not just about refresh rates, but also about how fast a monitor can render each frame. The slower the rendering, the greater amount of stuttering and screen tearing that is visable to you, the gamer. I know what I would do - have both and use whichever monitor is best for the particular game I am playing :D

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

FYI, overclocking the QNIX QX2710 and Overlord Tempest X270OC monitors no longer require the use of any 3rd party tools or hacks and can now be directly overclocked through the Nvidia control panel or AMD Catalyst control center by creating a custom resolution and manually entering the desired refresh rate. Manual tweaking of the horizontal and vertical timings may be required in order to achieve higher overclocks without artifacts showing on the screen.
