Hi im in a bit of pickle, iv got an i5 750 pc that is overclocked to 3.6 ghz with 6 gb ram, 1tb hdd, standard disk drive and a hd 7770 overclocked

my issue is my hd 7770 has had to be removed from the machine to be used in another machine and iv managed to get my hands on an msi hd 7870, but i dont trust how close my wattage is getting to on my system, if i take away the oc from my processor then my total wattage is 340 watts and my power supply is a corsair vs 450 psu that i was missinformed from the website as being an 80+ bronze psu and now i dont want to put this card into my system just in case, any advice will be a great help

Solution
A Corsair vs 450 psu HAS 34 Amps on the 12v rail and will easilt handle your build with a 7870 , just get rid of the overclock because the VS series supplies have weak capacitors.

Hi thanks for getting back to be, i have reset my bios so my cpu clocks have returned to stock, i have unplugged a couple of my molex fans and iv installed the card using one of the 6 pin power connectors and a dual molex to 6 pin as i couldnt plug the other 6 pin into the card due to the cable sticking out of the side panle of the case :S, but its running nicely, iv played a few games of titanfall and battlefield 4, seems to be smooth, my only issue iv had is when i go to do the windows score test its black screens half way and causes the system to freeze

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9 the price is lowest at NCIX but there is shipping

The above is the generally approved PSU among most people here. I own it too but it is kind of loud and makes a loud sound powering off but it is the bare minimum for running a card with 2 PCI-E 6 pin connections.

The fact that are you using the molex to 6 pin adapter to power the graphics card is not a good sign in terms of compatibility with the PSU especially since it is freezing part way through windows performance index.

Stop running the window performance index and start shopping for

the overclock went befor i installed the card, the only reason im using a molex to six pin is because of the way my 2 6 pins are, i cant fit the card in the case as the cables plug in to the top and not the back, thats the only reason im using the molex, but yea day 2 and it seems to be running fine, i will order a new psu next week and go to a 650 watt 80+ bronze psu moer than likely modular due to the fact im terrible with cable management :3

Thank you all for help
