Gaming PC build for around $1,000

So I'm looking at building a PC because my laptop just isn't cutting it for some of the more demanding games (mainly ARMA III). I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty damn ignorant when it comes to picking PC parts. Ideally I would like a setup that allows me to run ARMA III on its highest settings. I'm looking to spend around $1000 give or take a few hundred. Being able to easily upgrade it in the future is a plus, but not necessary. I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset so none of those are needed. If you need anymore information/clarification just let me know. Thanks in advance!

Here is the same with a locked processor and motherboard. This build cannot be overclocked:

Edit: For the OC build, if you wanted to overclock you would need an aftermarket cooler. A decent one costs about $30 with the really good ones costing over $50

Firstly I'd like to say thanks for the speedy answer!
So I've looked it over and done my research (to the best of my limited abilities) and I think that first build is pretty much perfect for what I want. I'm not interested in overclocking just right now, but I will be in the future. Do you have any recommendations for an aftermarket cooler?

For some minor overclocking and a more quiet cooler (compared to the stock cooler that comes with the i5s) this one is good:

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.94 @ OutletPC)

For some bigger overclocks and even quieter:
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($59.99 @ NCIX US)

Also, just to throw this out there, this is one of my favorite cases but a bit more expensive, has real good soundproofing if you are interested:

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case ($79.99 @ Newegg)

No optical drive so you would need to install os through USB.

That's a really good price for the Fatal1ty Killer mobo, definitely get that over the Asrock extreme4, it is a better mobo. + A great deal on the 750w Antec HCG.

Didn't even think about color coordinating :)

Well I've done my research yet again, and I've gotta say I'm starting to understand a lot more than just a few days ago. I did a little mixing and matching with the builds provided and came up with this: PCPartPicker part list
What do you think of it?

I was also browsing around and saw that some people recommended getting the Fractal Design Define XL R2 (Black Pearl) to allow for more air flow. The size/weight isn't an issue for me, it's just that I don't think I really need all that room.

Looks great, the NH-D14 is one of Noctua's best coolers and you can't go wrong with it.
