Hi all, this may be the 3000th thread on this kind of thing, so I apologize if the same problem has been solved before and I couldn't find it. Any pointers would be appreciated.

System: Samsung 400B laptop with Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit, and Xerox WorkCentre 6505. Office machine, no games or funny/suspicious stuff installed.

Problem: Printer worked fine until several days ago, but suddenly no more. Print job queue does either show an error with the document, or not anything at all that it has received a document when trying to print out something from Acrobat Reader, from web browser or any other program. The printer is shown in the devices list as connected, ready and set as standard printer. Running Windows' troubleshooter finds no errors. The printer is not out of paper, out of toner or anything and works fine from another computer.

Tried the usual routine of de-installation and re-installation of printer drivers more times than one can count. Automatic via USB, or with freshly downloaded drivers from Xerox. The results vary. Strangely, two times it was possible to print out the test page from the printer properties dialog, as well as a simple Notepad document, but not from any other application. The other times it remained completely silent.

After searching various sources just giving the run-around of standard procedures, found this answer from Microsoft: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-pro-64-bit-printing-problem/77415997-f88e-4d88-8965-c9b1e1c19ddd
Tried out 'SFC /SCANNOW' as suggested. No corrupted file was found, but after restart I was able to print exactly one page out of Chrome browser, afterwards the problem returned and nothing works since then. Repeating the scan has not changed that.

Currently out of ideas what to try next. Any suggestions?
