So I turned off my surge protector, by accident, without shutting down my PC last night. Now every time I play Skyrim it blue screens. It plays for a bit then goes all blue.

Solution
Try thes steps:

1) Unplug your power supply from the surge protector and plug directly into the wall outlet and try playing the game to see if the same issue persists.

2) Try using a different output port on the graphics card (i.e. second DVI port) than the one that was connected during the incident.

3) Try playing the game using a different video card to see if the same issue persists.

4) Do a clean re-install of the graphics drivers. If your PC was shutdown hard, the graphics drivers may have been corrupted.

A question for you: Does any other game exhibit this behavior, or is it just Skyrim that does it?

Worst case scenario, your graphics card itself or the port was damaged by a power spike and you will need to RMA it for...
