Raid 10 with 2 pairs of different RPM drives

Hello:
I would like to know if the following configuration is applicable:

Installing 4 drives in a NAS with one pair of 2TB 5900 RPM drives and another pair of 2TB 7200 RPM drives.

The NAS will be configured as Raid 10

What RAID controller are you using?

The controller shouldn't matter but the array will default to the slowest drive speed.

Sure, but the maximum transfer speeds will be bottlenecked by the slower drives.

I see then I will just buy two 7200RPM drives first. I don't want to buy all 4 drives at once due to limited budget. Better off to get the same speed latter.
