Monitor keeps saying out of range

Hey guys,

I built my computer this past Christmas and everything runs smoothly except when I play games such as League of Legends, Path of Exile, or any steam game. After playing those games for several minutes my monitor goes black or green saying either out of range or no signal detected. I changed from dvi to displayport thinking there was something wrong with my cord, but that didn't help. I've updated and rolled back all my drivers for my graphics card and monitor, and that didn't help either. I've re-installed windows thinking a file was corrupt, and once a gain that didn't help. I have also stress tested both my graphics card and mother board thinking those were just bad, but both passed with no problem. I have also taken out my graphics card and put it back in making sure it was in all the way. My power supply is more than sufficient so that shouldn't cause any disruptions, and nothing is over heating. I am baffled by what is going on and need any suggestions. The last thing for me to do is buy a new graphics card, but I am welcome to all suggestions to help me solve this before i have to spend any money.

Thank you for your time

Here are my specs:
-ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX770 2GB GDDR5 256-bit
-Corsair Professional Series 760 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Platinum Power Supply AX760
-BenQ XL2420TE 144Hz, 1ms High Performance 24-Inch Gaming Monitor
-Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ 6 MB Cache - BX80646I54670K

Solution
I had a similar situation to this once when I plugged a new monitor into my Xbox 360. The 360 was set to a resolution that the monitor did not support, so whenever I turned it on it would give the out of range message. To fix that I had to plug in the old monitor, change the xbox settings to 1920x1080, and then plug the new monitor back in.

Based on that, it sounds like the GPU is somehow changing resolutions at some point, but that also doesn't seem very likely to me. I would suspect a faulty monitor before believing that the 770 is the culprit.

Have you ever tried to use Shadowplay? If so, try toggling it on and off. It can do some weird things with the display when activated for the first time.

I would also try contacting BenQ...

Yes, I've adjusted all my in-game settings in several different ways and the problem still continues

I have tried my little brothers monitor and the problem still occured. He has the same monitor just a model year older, so it only goes to 120hz. And I have contacted BenQ support and they told me to send in my monitor as they have never had this issue before, but if it still occurred on my brothers I doubt its my monitor. I tried Shadowplay, and I'm not sure what it did but I will test it out. I will let you know if it fixed it.

Edit: I have no idea why, but since i turned on shadow play it hasn't done it (knock on wood) so thank you for your suggestion. I will let you know if occurs again.

If it happens again, then it's probably the video card that has a problem.
